JEWELRY CARE GUIDE
GENERAL CARE
Remove your jewelry before washing your hands, exercising, showering, or swimming.
Avoid harsh chemicals found in cleaning agents and common beauty products like perfumes, makeup, hairspray, and sunscreen to help maintain the color and shine.
Removing your jewelry before sleep and storing it in an airtight container will also help it last as long as possible.
Use a soft cleaning cloth after wearing to remove makeup, dirt, and your body’s natural oils.
Do not use jewelry cleaners or polishes because they often contain harsh chemicals that can degrade the luster over time.
FINE
JEWELRY
Solid gold jewelry can last a lifetime, but it’s still best to follow the care tips above to maintain the shine and luster. You can also gently clean your solid gold pieces with water and mild hand soap. Rinse under lukewarm water to remove all soap residue and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
Sterling silver jewelry will lose its shine over time when exposed to air due to natural chemical reactions. Following the care tips above will help maintain the luster. For pure silver pieces that have not been plated, a silver cleaner can also be used.
FASHION
JEWELRY
Fashion jewelry is gold filled or plated over another base metal like brass, copper, or stainless steel. It’s important to remember these are not solid gold pieces and require the care tips above to help them last as long as possible.
Crystal jewelry requires the general care tips above. Keeping your crystals dry is especially important as some stones are porous, like opal and turquoise for example, and should never be submerged. Note, a soft cloth for cleaning is key because stone can easily be scratched.
